As a Senior Manager Engineering, you take on a level above leadership roles and design a new engineering management structure. You are responsible for delivery, leadership, and the organizational development of a department focusing on Austria and Spain.

Your responsibilities

Leading 4 to 8 Chapter Leads and Team Leads in Austria and Spain
Conducting 1:1 meetings, annual reviews, and salary negotiations
Developing leadership towards autonomously working teams
Utilizing sensing mechanisms like team checks, retro feedback, and site visits
Ensuring proper staffing in dedicated and matrix-organized teams
Eliminating cross-team blockers to ensure delivery
Co-developing the department's roadmap for 6 to 12 months with product and stakeholders
Planning capacities and coordinating dependencies
Translating quality metrics into concrete improvement initiatives with the QA line
Advancing AI adoption and establishing meaningful AI standards in engineering

Your profile

At least 8 years of experience in software engineering
At least 4 years of experience in leading leaders (chapter leads or team leads)
Experience in leading multiple teams simultaneously and using flow metrics
Technical depth to evaluate architectural requirements and identify technical risks
Clear, reflective stance on AI in everyday engineering
Experience with AI-supported tools or intensive engagement with AI is ideal
Experience in organizational development, staffing, and lead hiring for distributed organizations
Experience in working with product, UX, and external delivery partners
Spanish and German as the working languages of the teams
English proficiency for internal collaboration
