Senior AI Backend Engineer
We are seeking an experienced specialist for developing AI-related backend systems and cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of productive AI products such as RAG systems and data pipelines. This role involves integrating real company and production data into stable software solutions.
Your responsibilities
- Development of productive RAG systems for company and production data
- Creation of backend services and APIs in Python for AI workflows and agents
- Development of data and processing pipelines for documents, ERP/MES data, and knowledge sources
- Work on retrieval, chunking, and embeddings in AI applications
- Evaluation and quality assurance of AI responses
- Support in building training and fine-tuning pipelines
- Integration of LLMs and agent systems into product features
- Building monitoring systems for quality assurance and stability monitoring
- Contribution of cloud, container, and automation expertise
- Participation and independent implementation of technical decisions
Your profile
- Several years of experience in backend, AI, or data engineering
- Knowledge of LLMs, RAG systems, and AI-related backend development
- Understanding of APIs, data flows, and data modeling
- Experience with data pipelines and automation
- Basic knowledge of cloud, containers, and deployment technologies like Docker or Kubernetes
- Independent, quality-conscious working style with high self-responsibility
- Enjoyment in the pragmatic implementation of new AI technologies
- Excellent German language skills, both spoken and written
- English skills are an advantage
- Experience with vector databases, AI frameworks, MLOps, cloud providers, and security is a plus
