Head of Internal Audit
In this senior position, you are responsible for the professional leadership of the Internal Audit. Your main task includes developing and implementing audit strategies and managing audit processes in a complex, international environment.
Your responsibilities
- Assume overall responsibility for the strategic direction of Internal Audit
- Ensure the operational management of Internal Audit
- Develop a risk-oriented audit plan for multiple years
- Coordinate the implementation of the audit plan
- Lead the execution of standardized audit reviews
- Organize and conduct special audits
- Evaluate internal control systems for adequacy and effectiveness
- Analyze risk management and governance structures
- Identify risks within business processes
- Highlight specific improvement opportunities
- Create meaningful audit reports
- Present findings to the board and relevant committees
- Further develop audit methods considering regulatory requirements
- Maintain intensive collaboration with the board and management
- Ensure coordination with compliance, risk management, and external auditors
Your profile
- Completed degree in economics
- Alternatively, completed law degree
- Ideally, additional technical training (e.g., HTL)
- Completed audit training (e.g., CIA, CISA, CFE) or willingness to obtain
- Several years of professional experience in Internal Audit or similar areas
- Experience in auditing, compliance, or risk management
- High level of integrity
- Objectivity in professional conduct
- Strong communication skills
- Confident presence at management level
- Very good German language skills
- Good English language skills
