You will lead the Legal Affairs department and hold expert responsibility for legal matters in the research environment. Key areas include contract management, data protection, compliance, as well as legal support for procurement and IPR issues.

Your responsibilities

Leading the Legal Affairs department
Advising institutes and the head office on legal matters
Advising on contract law
Advising on corporate and association law
Legal support of procurement processes and public procurement law
Advising and implementing data protection regulations
Developing and implementing compliance guidelines
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating funding, research, and cooperation agreements with university and industrial partners, considering non-profit and state aid aspects
Building and enhancing a structured contract management system
Standardizing and optimizing contract processes

Your profile

Degree in law
Several years of professional experience
Leadership experience
Experience in contract negotiations
Knowledge of compliance and experience with research funding
Experience in contract and corporate law (ideally)
Experience in scientific institutions (ideally)
Affinity for digital processes
Good understanding of complex relationships in various legal areas
Structured and solution-oriented working approach
